The ‘Himayat’ scheme is a central-sponsored initiative aimed at employing school and college dropouts as well as those coming from financially weak backgrounds. The scheme plans to offer 7000 youth of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in the next year, 2013. It has already provided 1700 jobs since the scheme initiated in J&K in Dec, 2011 and is to offer 2000 more jobs within the next month.
