6 February 2021 - Ireland has been the fastest country in Europe to have suppressed the third wave of the coronavirus. According to Dr Tony Holohan, the country is in a “strong position” to fight against the virus despite the daily infection estimates being above 1000. Reports say that staying at home, limiting contacts and following the advice of health officials is the main reason why the country has been successful in suppressing the third wave so far.
