The number of part-time employees rose, year on year, in the first quarter of 2020 according to state agency statistics. Unemployment rose slightly during the same period. The first quarter figures do not fully reflect the effects of the coronavirus emergency situation. The labour force participation rate was 71.7%, the employment rate was 68.1%, and the unemployment rate stood at 5%.
