Credit Suisse seeks to generate huge annual savings through expanded digitization and diminished face-to- face contact between the bank and its customers. The policy of closing local branches may result in the cutting of 500 jobs. The trade union of bank employees urges the bank to avoid dismissals at least until the end of 2020 and criticised it for announcing restructuring during great economic uncertainty and despite solid financial results.
