Turkey’s first lady lauded the country’s progress in female employment and urged women to take on more entrepreneurial roles as the government prepares to kick off new programmes to boost women’s participation in the labour market. Between 2004 and 2018 the female employment rate rose from 23% to 34%. The first lady emphasised the importance of government incentives to boost women’s employment.
